Finding A Lender
Lenders are a critical component to the home purchase. Unless you plan to pay cash for the home, a lender will likely be part of the transaction. Getting Pre-Qualified by a reputable lender can make the purchase much easier and once you find the right home, you can make your offer immediately.
Talk with a lender early in the process. You wouldn't go shopping without your wallet or purse and you shouldn't look for homes without your lender providing a pre-approval for the loan amount you estimate you will need. Once you are approved, you can look at homes you know fit your budget.
There are many ways to choose a qualified lender. Consider using a bank you have used before and have a relationship with, ask a friend or relative, or you can ask your Realtor for lenders they have some knowledge about. The Realtors know many lenders and can offer you names and numbers. The decision is always yours and it should be one of the first steps in getting prepared to purchase your property.
